Pep Guardiola admitted that his team is playing under a very tight schedule

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admitted that his team has been playing under a very tight schedule in recent weeks. According to the Spanish specialist, although this situation caused physical difficulties for the players, he accepted and adapted to such conditions.

"There's training tomorrow too. This is normal for me. This has happened before, I like it. Of course, it's not always possible to work this way, but I love working in such an environment. There was a lot of pressure in the game against Bournemouth, after which you go home to rest, but you want to return to work the next day. This is my lifestyle," Guardiola said in an interview with the club's press service.

According to Pep, there is indeed a calendar gap for teams participating in the Champions League. For example, clubs in Germany or France hold their domestic championship matches on Fridays before the European Games, thus having a more day off.

"This is a real situation in our work style. No one wants to change the calendar, and we are forced to show results even in such conditions. Of course, I don't like this, because the opponents rest one day longer. But it's true, and we've learned to live with it," Pep said.

Guardiola believes that the biggest problem in European football is the increasing number of matches. Therefore, he constantly emphasizes to his students to be stable not only physically but also mentally.

"You live not only through training, but also through endless trips, press conferences, and fan pressure. Therefore, stability, discipline, and caution are very important. Being a footballer isn't just about playing football - it's a lifestyle," Guardiola concluded.

Manchester City is preparing for the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund in the coming days.
