France’s "Marseille" club is not showing successful results in the Champions League. The team has lost three out of its first four matches.
In the latest round, the club lost 0-1 to the Italian side "Atalanta". In the closing minutes of the game, "Marseille" players demanded a penalty, claiming the opponent handled the ball.
However, the referees ignored these appeals. The club’s sporting director, Mehdi Benatia, shared his opinion on the situation.
"That was a clear penalty, everyone saw Ederson play with his hand. This is the second such case for us in the Champions League.
In the match against "Real", a dubious penalty was awarded against us, and this time we weren’t given a penalty. The referees are treating us unfairly and disrespectfully," Benatia said.
In the next round, "Marseille" will face England’s "Newcastle" team.
