Football insider Fabrizio Romano commented on the rumors about Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk’s possible move to Real Madrid.
“In Spain, there were reports during the summer transfer window that van Dijk wanted to join Real.
But I know that he did not want to leave Liverpool. Virgil considers himself an important part of the club’s project.
He has always shown interest in signing a new contract with the Reds,” Team Talk quotes the insider as saying. The 34-year-old defender has been defending Liverpool’s honor since January 2018.
His current contract runs until the end of the 2026/2027 season.
