During the program of the Islamic Solidarity Games - 2025, held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, boxers from Uzbekistan raised the honor of our country with another medal.
Our talented athlete Uzukjamol Yunusova (-60 kg weight category), representing our national team, fought a very fierce and dramatic fight against her Turkish opponent in the semi-final. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this battle became not only a battle technique, but also a test of will and character.
In the first round, both athletes moved very actively. Yunusova tried to take the lead with her quick and accurate shots, but her Turkish opponent also showed very strong resistance with her return shots. In the second round, the fight became even more intense - the Turkish boxer delivered many shots, but Yunusova, striving to turn the fight in her favor every minute, did not stop fighting until the last minute.
In the end, the judges awarded the victory to the Turkish athlete with a small margin. Thus, although Uzukjamol Yunusova lost in the semifinals, she finished the competition with a bronze medal.
This result is important not only for Yunusova herself, but also for the entire boxing team. His diligence, strong will, and perseverance in battle served as an example for young athletes.
Congratulating our medal-winning athlete, the coaches expressed their pride in his performance. They emphasize that Uzukjamol's experience will lay the foundation for even greater achievements in international competitions in the future.
At the same time, Yunusova's bronze medal became another valuable prize for the Uzbek delegation. At the Islamic Solidarity Games, our athletes continue to participate in a number of disciplines, and every day we receive reports of new achievements.
The Uzbek flag was once again raised high under the sky of Riyadh - this will remain in history as another victory of our country's strong will in sports and the tirelessly working young generation.
