At the VI Islamic Solidarity Games, held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, our country's boxers once again raised the national flag high.
Today, the most crucial stage of the competition - the final fights - took place. At this stage, 4 athletes from the Uzbekistan national team were scheduled to enter the ring. Two of them concluded their competitions and shared feelings of joy and pride with the fans.
In the final of the -60 kg weight category, our boxer Odinaxon Ismoilova faced Evin Erginoguz from Turkey. In all rounds, the opponent's experience prevailed, and the match ended with a score of 0:5. Thus, Ismailova finished the fight with a silver medal, adding another prize to the treasury of our country's delegation.
Also, Abdullah Madaminov, who competed in the 65 kg weight category, defeated his Algerian opponent Jugurta Ait Bekka with an absolute advantage in the final. Score - 5:0. Madaminov did not give up the initiative in all rounds and won the gold medal with an advantage in the ring.
This victory was a great source of pride not only for our boxer, but also for the entire national team and fans. Madaminov's confident movements in the ring, accurate shots, and physical preparedness once again proved that he deserved this award.
We remind you that representatives of our country are participating in several sports at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh. And our boxers, as always, with their skill and will, occupy a deep place in the hearts of fans.
Today, the growing number of medals won by our national team demonstrates the stable development of Uzbekistan's sports and the growth of a new generation of athletes. The competition will continue tomorrow - two more of our compatriots will compete for the gold medal in the ring.
