Former Milan player and coach Cristian Brocchi has stated that the team is missing one crucial step to regain its status as a top club. According to him, this step can be achieved under new head coach Massimiliano Allegri.

"Making progress in terms of mentality—that is the key element Milan is lacking. Allegri managed to establish a solid foundation that the team did not have last season.
