Federico Chiesa Declines Call-Up to Italian National Team

Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa has declined the Italian national team’s invitation to participate in the 2026 World Cup qualification matches. This was announced by Italy's head coach Gennaro Gattuso.

"I frequently talk with Federico. It’s important to respect everyone’s decisions; everyone has their own stance on such matters.

I have nothing more to say on this subject," the coach stated, as insider Fabrizio Romano reported on social media. The Italian national team is scheduled to play two matches against Moldova and Norway in November.
