Another contender for the next World Cup - a grand competition to be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico - has opened its way. At the height of the qualifying matches, the 29th national team formalized its participation, and it was France's turn.
France faced Ukraine in Group D of the European Regional Qualifiers, and the outcome of this match was hotly debated almost beforehand. France was cited as a favorite both in the football environment around Paris and Kyiv, and in the European media world. The match itself confirmed these points once again: the French defeated their opponent 4-0, securing their place in the World Cup ahead of schedule.
