Borodyuk Responds to Akinfeev's Criticism

Alexander Borodyuk, a specialist who worked on the coaching staff of the Russian national team from 2002 to 2012, responded to goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev's criticism of Dick Advocaat. The Dutch coach, who led the Russian national team at the time, did not include Akinfeev in the squad for the European Championship.

"This is Igor's personal opinion. Advocaat has already responded wisely.

If you ask about my professional relationship and experience working with Dick, he is an amazing person and a professional coach," Borodyuk told the "Championat" publication. Additionally, the specialist wished Advocaat, who is currently managing the Curaçao national team, success in qualifying for the World Cup.

Curaçao is leading its group in the CONCACAF region with 11 points. Jamaica follows with 10 points, and these two teams will face each other on November 19.
