After a thrilling and meaningful match against Egypt, Uzbekistan midfielder Otabek Shukurov answered journalists' questions and commented on the team's mood, preparation process, and plans for the final. From his words, it is clear that he is gaining confidence in the national team, spiritual upliftment, and very important experience before the World Cup.
First of all, Shukurov congratulated all the fans on their victory and a ticket to the final:
"We won, we reached the final. Egypt is a strong national team, and we faced a worthy challenge. Such matches are the best test for us before the World Cup. We need to play more against teams from Africa and other continents. Because it's unknown who will compete in the World Cup, feeling the opponents is a great experience. I think we delighted the fans today. In the final, we will play with all our might against Iran for the championship again."
Speaking about the team that played in an attacking style in the game, Atabek particularly noted the training process of the coaching team:
"Since the training camp began, the coaches have been explaining Egypt's playing style for four days. Our goals are also the result of the coaches' work. We were taught how to close the opponent, where to apply pressure, in which zones to press, and even how to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper. I think we have fulfilled these tasks, albeit little. Thanks to this, the victory was on our side."
Shukurov also spoke openly about the opinions that arose regarding the referees' activities during the game:
"Honestly, it seemed to us that the referees were inclined towards a clash between Iran and Egypt in the final. Sympathy seemed to be more on their side. Nevertheless, Allah granted us victory."
Shukurov's remarks indicate that the Uzbekistan national team is experiencing significant growth not only in terms of game quality but also in terms of morale. The guys consider each match an important experience before the World Cup and are ready to put in all their effort once again in the final. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the decisive match on November 18th.
