Croatian U-17 head coach: "Uzbekistan is a strong team. I'm not saying this out of fear"

Before the U-17 World Cup playoffs, Croatia's head coach, Marijan Budimir, spoke in detail about the important match. He noted that the name of Uzbekistan may not be among the major grants, but the power of this team cannot be denied.

According to Budimir, the growth rate of Uzbek football has attracted attention worldwide. The Croatian specialist is well aware that the senior youth team qualified for the World Cup for the first time, and the U-17 team is the current Asian champion. He particularly recalled the success of two years ago - the central victory over England and only the defeat against the eventual finalist France.

Budimir emphasized that he is saying this not out of fear of the opponent, but out of respect for the potential of Uzbek teenagers. He noted that the Uzbekistan team plays correctly, vertically, and very dynamically. Therefore, the Croatian headquarters has dedicated the last few days to serious tactical preparations.

The specialist noted that Uzbek footballers possess the agility, reaction speed, and movement culture characteristic of Asia, as well as Slavic creativity. In his opinion, this combination makes it difficult to predict the opponent and requires being prepared for many scenarios in the game.

Budimir's team intends to repeat their confident performance in the group stage in the playoffs. He emphasized that his students are ready to fulfill any task assigned to them and expressed hope for a result that will bring joy at the end of the competition.

As a reminder, the Uzbekistan vs. Croatia match kicks off on November 15th at 8:45 PM Tashkent time at the Espiral academy.
