The head coach of the Uzbekistan U-17 national team, Islambek Ismailov, commented on the team's participation in the World Junior Championship in Qatar. The 33-year-old specialist wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"Dear fans, football fans, parents, coaches, and compatriots who are passionate about Uzbek football!
Today we concluded our participation in the World Cup. At the same time, the U17 team, for which I served with all my heart for 3 years, has ended.
This path was not just a job for me - it was an honor, responsibility, and a test given by Allah.
For three years, we accompanied this team with arduous training, joyful victories, and heavy defeats. We were together in good times and in bad. The Asian Championship is the perseverance and hard work of this generation.
Becoming Asian champions in 2025 is the courage, hard work, and aspiration of our children. This result has been written in golden letters in the history of Uzbek football.
I will never forget: in every training session, in every tournament, we defended the honor of the flag of Uzbekistan. Before each game, there was one thought. "This is a sacrifice for the Motherland"
As a coach, I firmly adhered to one thing: justice and honesty. I chose no one's name, club, or connections, but only their work, character, and worthiness.
Every player called up to this team deserved it. I am proud of these decisions, both today and tomorrow.
I bow my head and express my gratitude to the people of Uzbekistan who supported us, blessed us, and placed their trust in us. We felt your love, your affection every minute. Your trust was our greatest strength.
The UFA leadership, technical department, and all those who aim to develop football have made a huge contribution to the success of each of the 17 national teams.
I express special gratitude to the assistant coaches, doctors, the analytical department, and the entire staff who believed in me, who burned with me, who were by my side in every training session and every competition. If it weren't for you, this road wouldn't be so strong.
I have one thing to say to all the players who have worked with me for three years:
You have become my pride. You won and lost on the field - but you never gave up.
I believe in you. You will conquer a lot of football. You are the future of Uzbek football, the stars of tomorrow.
This end is not the closing of one door. This is the beginning of a new stage
Today my path ended with this team.
