The Al Ain Cup international tournament with the participation of 4 national teams concluded in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Uzbekistan national team faced Iran in the final on November 18.
In the first half, Fabio Cannavaro's side showed a slight advantage. However, Otabek Shukurov, Oston Urunov, and Eldor Shomurodov failed to capitalize on the opportunities.
The second half was evenly contested. In the 72nd minute, defender Abdukodir Khusanov was sent off for knocking down an Iranian player who was going one-on-one with the goalkeeper. After that, the Iranians got the full initiative, but they couldn't find their way into the Uzbekistan goal.
In the penalty shootout, the Uzbekistan national team won with a score of 4:3.
