Milevski: Responsibility Placed on Me

Blagoja Milevski, the head coach of the North Macedonia national football team, shared his thoughts following the 1-7 defeat against Wales in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers. This result dropped North Macedonia from second to third place in the group standings.

"After this match and result, I would like to congratulate the Welsh team. We could not match our opponent's quality and motivation.

The responsibility is entirely mine. It has always been so, and it will remain so in the future.

What saddened me more than the scoreline was how we lost the game. We failed to adequately respond to the match situations and the individual skills of our opponents, making such a result inevitable," Milevski was quoted as saying by the "Sloboden Pechat" portal.

North Macedonia will continue its fight for a World Cup spot through the UEFA Nations League. The play-off stage draw is scheduled for November 20.
