Before the decisive stage of the World Cup, Javokhir Sindarov's thoughts inspired not only chess enthusiasts but the whole country. According to him, the participation of two Uzbek grandmasters in the semi-final is not a coincidence, but the result of years of accumulated work, support, and attitude.
According to Sindarov, the conditions created by the state - rapid and blitz world championships, Grand Swiss competitions, tournaments in the strong circuit system, and major starts such as next year's Olympics - are bearing fruit. According to him, the country's strategic development of chess makes each chess player feel particularly strong.
He says:
"I am proud to be Uzbek. The state and the people are always by our side. The atmosphere in the team is very strong, there is mutual respect and solidarity. The whole country rejoices for us. I hope we both make it to the Candidates Tournament - this is one of the biggest achievements."
He also noted that Javokhir Sindarov and Nodirbek Yakubboev have become symbols of today's chess generation. According to him, it's a special happiness for the guys who grew up together in the same project and worked under the same coach - Roman Vidonyak - to meet in the semi-finals.
"I'm also happy to play against my friend Yakubboyev. He is playing a very strong game here. This is also one of the most precious moments for our coach. "I know that they are proud of us," he added.
According to Sindarov, the presence of three Uzbek grandmasters with a rating of 2700+ today is a sign of the rise of the entire chess school. He assessed this as a vivid proof that the country is truly becoming a "strong chess nation."
The long-awaited semi-final kicks off on November 21st. Millions of Uzbek fans are waiting for the next big step of the two stars - in front of the screens.
