Luis Díaz recorded a double in the UEFA Champions League match against Bayern Munich, but was later shown a red card for a foul against Achraf Hakimi. The incident resulted in a serious injury for the Moroccan player.
UEFA assessed Díaz's offense as severe and imposed a three-match suspension. Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen shared his thoughts on the decision.
"We have requested the written explanation of this decision from UEFA and are planning to appeal. Whether we manage to reduce the suspension or not, we will see.
We thought it would only be a one-match suspension. A three-match ban came as a surprise to us," Dreesen said in an interview with Sky Sports.
In the next round of the Champions League, Bayern Munich will face Arsenal away. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
