Former "Inter" footballer Zinho Vanheusden, once considered one of Belgium's brightest football talents, has decided to end his professional career at the age of 26 due to injuries. This was reported by Football Italia.
The central defender started his career with Standard Liège and joined Inter’s youth team just days after turning 16. Despite promises of a place in the main squad, health issues hindered his development.
"The last few years have been very difficult for me. Injuries, surgeries, injections, medications...
I did everything I could to recover, but it became harder each time. Deep down, I always wanted to be a footballer, but my body has already given me the signal to stop.
Out of respect for myself, my health, and my role as a father, I am stepping away from football. I don’t know life without football, but I will now learn to adjust," the player wrote on his social media.
Vanheusden made just one appearance for the Belgian national team. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
