In the 13th round of the Turkish Super League, "İstanbul Başakşehir" lost 3:4 to "Trabzonspor" on their home field. "We need to divide the match into two parts. We started the game very well. But during the match, we had to play with 10 men. It's not easy for a strong opponent like Trabzonspor to score 3 goals with one player down. I am proud of my players," — Şahin said, highly valuing the courage shown by his team.
Sharp Criticism of Referees
He also sharply criticized the match officials: "I don't want to talk much about the referees. My focus is always on improving the quality of the game. But it is very difficult to work with today's referees. We are suffering the consequences due to some mistakes. This issue certainly needs to be addressed. We have good players, good teams, and good clubs in our league, but I cannot say the same about the level of the referees. This is my personal view," — the coach expressed his dissatisfaction.
