18-year-old Barcelona football player Lamin Yamal has admitted that he does not plan long-term goals. The young winger has long been referred to as the “new Lionel Messi” and is seen as the Catalan giant's main hope for the future.
However, the player maintains a simple outlook on the situation. “It all depends on people and their expectations.
Perhaps someone has high or low hopes for me, but I have no expectations for myself – I just focus on my game. I think expectations ultimately lead to nothing good: if you fulfill them, it seems like you have no other goals, and if you fail to meet them, you feel disheartened,” Yamal said in an interview with "The Touchline."
In the current season, the Spanish player has scored 7 goals and provided 9 assists in 14 appearances for Barcelona.
