Mainz Announces New Head Coach


The Mainz team officially announced its new head coach over the weekend. The team will now be led by 59-year-old Swiss specialist Urs Fischer.

He has signed a contract with the club that is set to last until mid-2028. Last week, Mainz ended its partnership with Bo Henriksen.

Following this, the team suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat at home against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Currently, Mainz is ranked 18th in the German Bundesliga standings.

The team has managed to collect only six points over the course of the past 13 matches. Mainz's next game is scheduled for December 11, where they will face Lech away in the UEFA Conference League.
