The Men's World Boxing Championship taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, continues to capture significant attention. The fifth day of the competition proved highly successful for Uzbekistan, with four of our athletes stepping into the ring and achieving commendable results.
Among the most notable performances was undoubtedly the match featuring two-time Olympic champion Hasanboy Dusmatov. Competing in the -51 kg weight category, our compatriot faced off against Turkish opponent Samet Gumus, the 2024 European Champion. Despite the strength of his formidable opponent, Dusmatov maintained clear dominance throughout the bout.
Over three rounds, Hasanboy demonstrated unrelenting control with swift attacks, precise punches, and seasoned tactics. The judges unanimously awarded him victory — 5:0, sending our representative confidently into the next stage.
This victory was highly praised not only by fans but also by the global boxing community, as Dusmatov consistently showcases the stability and skill befitting an Olympic champion in every fight.
As a reminder, we will soon witness another crucial bout featuring one of our boxers — Khojanazar Nortojiyev, who will face Indian competitor Sachin. This contest holds significant importance, and the coaching staff anticipates a strong performance from Nortojiyev as well.
