Aleksandr Bubnov Evaluates Ronaldo's Role in Portugal National Team

Former Moscow "Spartak" player and USSR national team member, now football expert Aleksandr Bubnov, assessed the significance of Cristiano Ronaldo, the striker for the Portugal national team, to his squad. According to Bubnov, the presence of the 40-year-old forward is important for coaching processes and team atmosphere, but his limitations in movement and speed could slightly reduce the tactical potential of the squad.

"In this case, Ronaldo is not exactly an obstacle, but he does introduce certain limitations to the team's actions. Without him, the team could potentially be stronger.

However, for the coach and in fostering the team environment, his presence is important," Bubnov stated during his remarks on the "Comment. Show" YouTube channel.

The Portugal national team has secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup. This prestigious tournament will take place in North American countries – the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
