Arteta Comments on Gyökeres' Goal Drought

Mikel Arteta, head coach of London’s Arsenal, considers the criticism directed at striker Viktor Gyökeres to be unfounded. The Swedish player started in the "Gunners" match against Wolverhampton (2–1), but only managed one shot on goal.

The 27-year-old forward was substituted in the 81st minute for Gabriel Jesus. Speaking to TNT Sports, Arteta highlighted that Gyökeres frequently reached dangerous positions, but the speed and sharpness of delivering the ball into the penalty area were insufficient.

The coach also praised the striker’s work ethic and intensity during the game. Gyökeres has now gone five consecutive matches without scoring.

The former leading player of Lisbon’s Sporting last scored on November 1.
