Yves Bissouma Apologizes Over Laughing Gas Incident

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has issued an apology to fans for the inappropriate use of nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as "laughing gas." Although legal in some countries, the substance is recognized as a narcotic in others.

Earlier, a video featuring Bissouma engaged in this activity circulated on social media. The player explained that his behavior stemmed from a period of despair following a burglary at his home earlier this summer.

At the time of the incident, he lost a total of £1 million worth of cash and valuable items. According to Bissouma, he still struggles to sleep peacefully and often avoids spending nights at his home.

"I know this is bad for me as a professional footballer, and it also harms my image. I deeply regret it, and I apologize to the fans.

These events broke something inside me: the fear, panic, paranoia, depression, sleeplessness, and the persistent loss of self-confidence," The Sun quoted the player as saying. Having yet to make a single appearance during the 2025/2026 season, Bissouma has vowed to focus entirely on football moving forward.
