A minor political controversy has arisen in Manchester surrounding Manchester City. According to the Daily Mail, the club's management has not issued any statement regarding an attack at one of the city's synagogues on October 2, which the local Jewish community described as a "terror attack."
While Manchester United expressed condolences to the victims and condemned the incident, Manchester City has been criticized for its silence. Criticism has also been directed toward head coach Pep Guardiola.
In a letter addressed to the club, a Jewish organization noted that neither Guardiola nor the club had made any supportive or solidarity gestures in response to the victims of the incident, which occurred near the Etihad Stadium. The organization stated that the lack of sympathy shown is concerning. Furthermore, the letter reminded that Guardiola's past comments on the Middle East conflict could potentially pose a threat to the safety of Jews in the UK, including Manchester City supporters.
It should be noted that Pep Guardiola has managed Manchester City for more than nine years.
