Barcelona President Joan Laporta shared his thoughts on attacking midfielder Dani Olmo. The Catalan giant acquired the player from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2024.
Although Olmo, a European champion, was signed, registering him immediately was not possible. During the season, he also faced suspension from participating in matches. Only after the intervention of a sports court were the Blaugrana able to officially register the Spanish star.
According to Laporta, the club fought vigorously to secure Olmo, as the team needed his football skills and commitment. Additionally, they were aware of his desire to return home. The president emphasized that this transfer faced numerous hurdles, with some even opposing the deal's realization.
Laporta stated that these challenges further solidified Dani's connection with Barcelona, and the club is grateful to the player. This season, Olmo has played in 17 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists.
