The legendary player of Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo, has responded to the achievement of Kilian Mbappe, the current forward of the team, who equaled his record.
During the La Liga match in the 17th round against Sevilla (2-0), Mbappe scored his 59th goal for the “Royal Club” in the calendar year of 2025. This achievement equals the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2013.
After the match, the French star posted on social media, openly expressing his respect toward the Portuguese legend. Ronaldo, in response, acknowledged Mbappe's accomplishment with two emojis — a raised hand and a fire symbol. These gestures were warmly received by the fans.
It should be noted that the absolute record for the most goals scored in a calendar year in La Liga history belongs to another legend. This record is held by former FC Barcelona striker Lionel Messi, who scored 91 goals in 2012.
