Van Basten says Barcelona player is the best in the world
The renowned former Dutch footballer Marco van Basten shared his opinion on who he considers the best football player in the world at the moment. The former striker specifically highlighted 18-year-old Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal.

"Without a doubt, Yamal is currently the best footballer in the world. I only hope we can enjoy watching him play for as long as possible," the 61-year-old Dutchman was quoted as saying by Barca Universal.

The young star of the "Blaugrana" has scored 9 goals and provided 11 assists in 20 matches this season for Hans-Dieter Flick's team. In the Ballon d'Or 2025 competition, the Spanish footballer finished second, narrowly missing out to PSG player Ousmane Dembélé.
