Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner spoke about his team’s problems with finishing after a narrow defeat against Tottenham (0:1). In the English league’s Matchday 18 fixture, the London side edged it by a single goal. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
According to Glasner, he does not intend to blame the players who failed to score, but it must be acknowledged that the team currently has a small yet noticeable shortcoming in the quality of their final shots. The coach also recalled that Sarr, Munyos and Kamadu are frequently involved in goals, stressing that fully compensating for their contribution will not be easy for now.
The specialist noted that he is satisfied with the team’s structure of play and the chances being created — the patterns are working. Now it is necessary to restore the players’ confidence and provide psychological support so they can score more.
Glasner’s main conclusion is this: the closer the team gets to goal, the more rushed the decision-making becomes and the more nervousness increases.
After Matchday 18, Crystal Palace are 9th with 26 points, while Tottenham sit 11th with 25 points.
