Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini met with journalists ahead of the Serie A Round 17 match against Genoa. The game kicks off on December 29 at 00:45 Tashkent time. This was reported by euro-football.ru.reports.
According to the coach, striker Artem Dovbyk is not fully ready yet: he is attending training sessions, but is still struggling to strike the ball. Gasperini said he hopes Dovbyk will return next week.
The coach also noted that another key issue is Mario Hermoso’s condition. The defender is feeling discomfort due to a groin injury, and the final decision on whether he will play will be made on match day.
Gasperini expects a tough game against Genoa regardless of the teams’ positions in the standings. In his view, Roma must give everything to win, and right now the club badly needs three points.
Roma are currently 5th with 30 points. Genoa have collected 14 points and sit in 17th place.
