AC Milan midfielder Luka Modric spoke about the coaches he has worked with throughout his career and openly named the toughest among them. He also recalled an incident from his Real Madrid days involving Cristiano Ronaldo — a story that is sure to spark even more fan interest.
According to Modric, Jose Mourinho holds a special place in his career. It was the Portuguese coach who wanted him at Real Madrid, and Modric admits that without Jose, he might never have moved to Madrid. Unfortunately, they did not work together for long — their partnership lasted just one season.
In the interview, Modric was asked an intriguing question: who is the toughest — Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti or Massimiliano Allegri? The answer came without hesitation — Mourinho.
The most sensational part is this: Modric says he saw Mourinho make Ronaldo cry in the dressing room. The reason was simple but huge for a club like Real Madrid: Ronaldo usually gave everything on the pitch, but in one moment he didn’t track back after an opposing defender. Modric described Mourinho’s key trait as blunt honesty. He said Jose spoke the same way to big names and to newcomers alike. If something had to be said, he said it — without trying to soften it.
