In Round 11 of the UAE Pro League, Baniyas lost at home to Al Nasr 1–2. For the hosts, Uzbekistan national team midfielder Otabek Shukurov failed to convert a penalty in the 45+10th minute. He was replaced in the 59th minute by substitute Akmal Mozgovoy.
In the early stages, the teams traded goals. Al Nasr forward Santos opened the scoring in the 18th minute, and Mierrez made it 2–0 in the 31st. Baniyas responded through Saviur in the 25th minute.
In the 45+10th minute, Shukurov had a chance from the penalty spot, but his effort was denied by the opposing goalkeeper. It was a crucial moment for the hosts, as a goal could have revived their hopes.
After the missed penalty, Baniyas tried to respond with more intensity but struggled to turn chances into goals. Al Nasr managed the game well tactically and, thanks to their earlier goals, secured the win.
