Indonesia appoints a new head coach for the national team

The Football Association of Indonesia announced that the country’s national team has been appointed a new head coach. The role has been given to 50-year-old British specialist John Herdman. Herdman previously coached the New Zealand and Canada women’s teams, and also worked with Canada’s men’s national team and a club in Toronto.
Herdman’s candidacy to lead the Indonesia national team was approved, although earlier reports suggested that Temur Kapadze could also be appointed to the position. Kapadze ultimately decided to continue working as the head coach of Navbahor.
From John Herdman’s new stint in Indonesia, expectations are that he will bring fresh ideas and momentum to the team and improve its international performances and results.
