Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini stressed that his team were not inferior to the opposition in the Serie A Round 18 match against Atalanta. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
In Bergamo, the hosts won 1–0. While acknowledging Atalanta’s strengths, Gasperini also singled out Roma’s performance.
“In any case, I’m pleased with the chances we created. It’s not easy to play against a tough and strong Atalanta, but we didn’t look weaker than our opponent,” Sky Sport Italia quoted the coach as saying.
The coach called the goal Roma conceded a painful one, because before that the visitors had at least two good opportunities to open the scoring.
After this result, Roma remained fifth with 33 points. Atalanta moved up to eighth place.
