According to Netzer, the best time to join the Madrid club is determined not by a player’s age, but by his performances for his previous team. In an interview with Bild, he said the player must first prove on the pitch how useful he can be for Real.
Netzer also described Karl as a talented footballer with a strong character. In his view, the young defender is not getting carried away by the buzz around him and mentioned Real not as an imminent transfer but as a dream. Netzer added that it is natural for young players to set Real as a goal, as it reflects an ambition to reach the very top of world football.
