In Saturday’s Bundesliga match, Freiburg hosted Hamburg at home. After the visitors were reduced by one player, the hosts looked much more active in attack and swung the result in their favor. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
Freiburg created a dangerous chance early on: in the 9th minute, Lukas Kübler’s shot from inside the box hit the crossbar. At the start of the second half, Hamburg made the most of a corner — from Miro Muheim’s delivery, Luka Vuskovic headed accurately to open the scoring (0:1).
After that, the game took a sharp turn: Daniel Elfadli committed a foul in the penalty area, received his second yellow card, and Freiburg were awarded a penalty. Vincenzo Grifo converted from 11 meters to make it 1:1 — the goalkeeper had a chance to save it.
The match was decided in the 83rd minute: Jan-Niklas Beste set up Igor Matanovic in a great position inside the box, and the striker finished into an almost empty net to give Freiburg the win — 2:1.
With this victory, Freiburg moved up to eighth in the standings, while Hamburg remained 13th.
