The coaching staff, led by Fabio Cannavaro, sees the next training camp not as mere preparation, but as an opportunity to select new players for the national team. The main goal is to further strengthen the competition around the national team, closely observe the players showing themselves in the championship, and determine who is truly ready for the highest level.
The Italian specialist openly expressed his opinion on the content of the meeting and the tasks envisioned through it. He emphasized that he has known these players for a long time and knows their potential and capabilities well. However, checking any information once again in practice is the most correct path for a coach.
"I know these players well, and I know what they're capable of. But at this meeting, we will "test" them once again and see their condition. This training camp should be a special signal for all the players playing in the championship. We have very big competitions ahead of us - in the next year there will be both the World Cup and the Asian Championship. Therefore, every player playing in the championship must be ready. Let everyone know: the national team candidates are always under our control," Cannavaro expressed his position.
The specialist also specifically addressed his work style. He tries to watch matches from the stadium as much as possible, because live observation clearly shows the player's movements, speed of decision-making, mental stability, and even the "minor" details on the field.
"I usually strive to watch games from the arena. You can also get information through television, but watching at the stadium is different. There, you fully grasp aspects like how a player enters the game, how they act under pressure, and their interaction with the team," Cannavaro said.
The Italian coach also knows the players of the Uzbekistan U-23 national team well. This means that the meeting is aimed not only at checking current candidates, but also at thoroughly preparing a reserve for the future.
In short, Cannavaro is not leaving the national team's doors closed: whoever works hard and shows themselves in the championship will certainly be in the spotlight. Now it's the players' turn: control is strict, and the opportunity is real.
