Fenerbahce's plan for the transfer of Eldor Shomurodov did not materialize

The transfer saga surrounding Eldor Shomurodov, who is currently the top scorer in the Turkish Super League with 14 goals, seems to have ended for now. Fenerbahce have made serious efforts to sign the striker in recent days, but negotiations have not been completed as expected.
According to Turkish journalist Ersan Serdal, the Istanbul club offered Basaksehir midfielder Fred and €6 million. However, the Citizens reportedly considered this package too small and demanded €10 million in addition to Fred.
The most important obstacle is the position within the club. According to insiders, Basaksehir head coach Nuri Sahin is not yet "warm" about Shomurodov's departure. For this reason, there were reports that the process slowed down and then almost stopped.
In fan terms: there is money, there is an option, but the third thing for a deal - consent - is missing. According to the current situation, the clubs have not found a middle ground in terms of both price and format, and Eldor will continue the season at Basaksehir.
Meanwhile, his statistics answer the question "why is there such interest?": games, goals, consistency - this is the most expensive currency on the transfer market for a striker.
In short, this transfer is a failure for now. But in football, a door that is "closed" can become "reopened" tomorrow - especially if the striker continues in this form.
