Our compatriot Husniddin Aliqulov, currently playing in Turkey, will continue his career at Rizespor. The club officially announced the extension of the current agreement with the Uzbekistan national team defender for another year - now the contract is valid until the summer of 2027.
At first glance, the news is good: the club believes in Aliqulov, which means it sees him as the main project in the future. But the other side is very painful.
According to the club's press service, the 26-year-old will not be able to return to the field this season. The cause is a wound from the cruciate ligament. The recovery process is expected to last from 6 to 9 months. This is a serious loss not only for club games but also for national team plans.
Most regrettably, it has been almost officially confirmed that he will miss the world championship in the summer. The absence of a footballer who contributed to the World Cup and could easily do "black work" in defense at such a time is also a heavy news for fans.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Aliqulov has missed a major tournament due to injury: he was unable to play at the 2023 Asian Cup due to the same setback.
Now the most important thing is to recover completely, without haste. Because the cruciate ligament isn't a joke: if you strain yourself saying "I'll be back soon," it can then turn into an even longer break. Therefore, patience is the most correct current tactic. And the fans expect one thing: Aliqulov will return - and return even stronger than before.
