The UFC organization failed to arrange the sensational fight expected by fans as part of a major tournament planned at the White House. According to preliminary information, a clash between Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria for the welterweight championship belt was expected during the event. On Friday, the UFC leadership announced that Makhachev would not be able to participate in this evening. After that, the organization's representatives immediately offered Justin Gaethje in his place. Gaethje confirmed the situation, mentioning that he was initially told not to participate in the fight, but the plan changed the next day.
The manager of both fighters, Ali Abdel-Aziz, called this process a real "Big Drama Show" on his social media page.
