Former Barcelona coach makes sharp comments about Joan Laporta

Former "Barcelona" head coach Xavi Hernandez spoke openly about the conflict with club president Joan Laporta. The Spanish specialist emphasized that the club's management organized a special campaign against him through the media. According to Xavi, the president secretly spoke with players and spread false information that the coach wanted to sell them. This situation negatively affected the atmosphere within the team.
Xavi specifically addressed the situation regarding players like Sergi Roberto, Araujo, Pedri, and Raphinha. He stated that he never wanted these players to leave and did not have a list of players to be sold. Xavi mentioned that he only discussed one transfer issue but would not disclose the name out of respect. He called Laporta's claims about planning to fire ten players completely baseless and false.
In an interview with La Vanguardia, Xavi noted that dishonest people cannot be trusted. The 46-year-old specialist won the Spanish league title and the Super Cup during his time managing "Barcelona" from 2021 to 2024. However, disagreements with the club's management led to his resignation. Previously, Xavi revealed that he was very close to bringing back Lionel Messi in 2023, but Laporta stopped the transfer. These statements further complicate the situation around "Barcelona".
