From March 8 to 15, the city of Bangkok (Thailand) hosted the international tournament "Futures Cup" among young athletes. Members of the Uzbekistan national team, who participated in this prestigious competition, showed excellent results and won 4 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals. This allowed them to achieve the status of the "best team" at the end of the competition.
Team members demonstrated their skills and talent in tough matches, actively participating in every match. Among the gold medalists in the -85 kg weight category were Sardorbek Bahromkhodzhaev, Asadbek Sultanboev -90 kg, Islam Salikhov +90 kg, and Rushanabonu Isaeva -60 kg. Also, the silver medals were won by Sukhrob Rakhmatullayev (-75 kg), Nazokat Mardonova (-51 kg), Sevara Mamatova (-65 kg), Samira Turgunova (-75 kg) and Asaloy Bakhtiyorova (-80 kg). The bronze medals were awarded to Abdugani Yorkinjonov (-50 kg) and Nilufarkhon Abduhoshimova (+80 kg).
The coaching team - Julio Li Echavarria, Sirojiddin Nayimov, Bakhtiyor Turabayev, Elnur Abduraimov, Temur Akhbayev, Eldor Holmatov, Mirkhon Sodikov, and Shahobbek Juraev - prepared the athletes in every aspect and contributed to their achievement of the highest results. Team manager Mirzokhid Numonov and referee Maruf Urdushev performed their duties perfectly.
With these results, the youth of Uzbekistan took first place in the team competition. Kazakhstan took second place, and the third place went to athletes from the USA. According to experts, this result testifies to how much our country's boxing is developing for the younger generation and opens up the possibility of achieving even greater success in future international competitions.
