Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the construction of the New Tashkent Football Stadium

On March 24, the President of Uzbekistan familiarized himself with the construction of a large modern football field in New Tashkent. The head of state emphasized the importance of ensuring the quality and timely completion of construction work.

Currently, the construction of the square is proceeding at an accelerated pace. Work on leveling the ground has been fully completed, and the foundation work is approaching 95%. Metal-construction materials are being delivered to the construction site in stages. Also, the stadium, designed for 55 thousand spectators, will be six-story, more than 10 escalators will be installed, 3 additional training grounds will be organized on the territory, and a metro station and a parking lot for 5.5 thousand people will be built nearby.

According to the information, this facility is worth $100 million and is intended for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be held in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in 2027. One of FIFA's requirements is that the World Cup final and semi-final matches be held in a stadium with a capacity of over 50,000 spectators.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized that the stadium is the first indoor sports facility with such a large capacity in the country and noted the need for a phased and high-quality implementation of construction and landscaping work.

It is estimated that the new Tashkent stadium will play an important role not only in the development of national sports, but also in hosting international competitions.
