It's time to modernize Italian football stadiums

Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo openly and sharply commented on the outdated football infrastructure in Italy. He noted that the stadiums in the country are among the oldest in Europe, and their average age is over 70 years. This situation hinders the development of Italian football.

De Siervo expects a change in the situation through the introduction of a new economic model, but this system will only be fully effective in at least 6-7 years. Until now, the rivalry with the Italian league and other European championships is only widening.

The 2032 European Championship is the last opportunity for Italy. Currently, the construction of new stadiums is planned in Milan with an investment of more than 1 billion euros, as well as important infrastructure projects of "Lazio" and "Roma." Work is also underway to modernize stadiums in Genoa and Florence.

As a reminder, Italy and Turkey have been designated as the hosts of Euro 2032. This is an important signal that requires the country to modernize its football infrastructure.
