“Barcelona” is dissatisfied with refereeing and is preparing a complaint to UEFA…

Within the quarter-final stage of the UEFA Champions League, after the match between “Barcelona” and “Atletico”, major discussions arose. The Catalan club, after the 0:2 defeat, was strongly dissatisfied with the referee’s decisions and is considering the possibility of submitting an official complaint to UEFA.
One of the main controversial moments occurred in the 54th minute. In that situation, “Atletico” defender Marc Pubill stopped the ball with his hand inside the penalty area, however, the main referee Istvan Kovacs did not award a penalty. The VAR official Christian Dingert also did not intervene in this episode, which further increased the dissatisfaction of the Catalans.
In addition, the “Barcelona” team considers the decision to send off Pau Cubarsi unfair. The player first received a yellow card, but later, after VAR intervention, was shown a red card and sent off. The club’s management states that there is no clarity regarding in which situations VAR should or should not intervene.
Furthermore, according to the Catalans, “Atletico” midfielder Koke should have been sent off already in the first half.
According to sources, these controversial situations have led the “Barcelona” management to seriously consider submitting an official complaint to UEFA.
At the same time, according to Diario Sport, referee Istvan Kovacs is likely not to be appointed to the remaining UEFA Champions League matches.
For information, the return leg will take place on April 14 in Madrid.
