Atletico Madrid player unhappy with refereeing in match against Arsenal

After a dramatic Champions League semi-final clash against Arsenal, Atletico Madrid forward Giuliano Simeone expressed his sharp dissatisfaction with the referee's decisions on social media. The player, son of head coach Diego Simeone, is particularly angry that a penalty was not awarded in a controversial incident involving Riccardo Calafiori. This is reported by Goal.com .

Giuliano shared clips on his Instagram page showing the foul committed against him. In his opinion, the referees made an incorrect offside call at a crucial moment in the game, when in fact he was in his own half. Shortly after this situation, Bukayo Saka scored to decide the outcome of the match.

During the game, Antoine Griezmann also appealed for a penalty, but the VAR system determined that Marc Pubill had committed a foul at the start of the attack. Additionally, Giuliano Simeone failed to capitalize on a clear chance, missing a one-on-one opportunity against David Raya.

Diego Simeone, unlike his son, showed restraint at the press conference. Rather than arguing about the officiating, he acknowledged Arsenal's victory as deserved and praised the high-level performance of the team led by Mikel Arteta.
