Haaland nears third consecutive Premier League Golden Boot

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is closing in on records held by Premier League legends Thierry Henry and Mohamed Salah. The Norwegian forward is currently moving confidently toward his third Golden Boot award. Former club player Paul Dickov believes that if Haaland remains in England for a long period, he is capable of rewriting all historical records. Goal.com reports this news.

Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2022, Haaland scored 52 goals across all competitions in his debut season, helping his team achieve the treble. To date, he has managed to score 159 goals in 193 appearances for the "Citizens." In the 2025-26 season, he continues to lead the scoring race with 24 goals, holding a three-goal lead over his closest pursuer, Igor Thiago.

If Haaland continues his scoring streak, Pep Guardiola's side could secure a domestic treble this season. The team has already won the Carabao Cup, returned to the top of the league standings, and secured a place in the FA Cup semi-finals. Dickov noted that these results, which seemed impossible a month ago, are now becoming a reality.

Haaland has proven he is back to his best form by scoring five goals in his last four matches. He recorded a hat-trick against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals. The 25-year-old striker is now expected to play a pivotal role in the remaining five matches of the season and lead his team toward a new championship title.
