Como President Mirwan Suwarso has officially confirmed that the club will not hinder head coach Cesc Fabregas from moving to Chelsea. The London club's leadership views its former star as the primary candidate following the dismissal of Liam Rosenior. Suwarso expressed confidence regarding Fabregas's future, stating that the club does not force employees to stay against their will and will grant permission if the coach is happy in London. The president only noted his desire that the Spanish specialist does not join direct rivals within Italy.
Fabregas's coaching reputation has risen sharply since retiring as a player in 2023. He led Como from the lower divisions and guided them to fifth place in Serie A this season. The Italian Football Federation named him the country’s Coach of the Year, awarding him the prestigious Enzo Bearzot Award.
