In Uruguay, Racing Club wins first title in Bayern Munich network
In brief

Uruguay's Racing Club has won its first national championship title in history, securing the Apertura tournament victory with two matches remaining. This achievement qualifies the team for the upcoming playoff stage in the fall. Racing has been a member of the international "Red&Gold Football" network, established in collaboration with Bayern Munich and Los Angeles clubs, since 2023, focusing on discovering and developing young talent worldwide. The club's success is attributed to investments in its infrastructure and youth academy rather than expensive transfers, with a total squad value of €8 million, significantly lower than that of other major clubs in the country.

Uruguayan club "Racing" has won the national championship title for the first time in its history. The Montevideo team secured the Apertura tournament victory with two rounds remaining in the championship. Goal.com reports this.

This success granted the club the right to participate in the play-off stage to be held in the autumn.

"Racing" has been a member of the "Red&Gold Football" international network, established in cooperation between Bayern Munich and the US club "Los Angeles", since 2023. This project is aimed at finding and developing talented youth across the world.

Currently, this network covers ten different regions on five continents.

According to Uruguayan sports journalist Damian Herrera, the club's victory was achieved not through expensive transfers, but through investments in internal infrastructure and the youth academy. The total value of the "Racing" squad is 8 million euros, which is several times less than the budgets of other major clubs in the country.

As part of the partnership, a number of young Uruguayan players have already headed to European clubs. In particular, Anderson Rodriges and Mauro Marichal moved to the Austrian team "Tirol".

Additionally, another member of the network — Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, a graduate of the "Gambinos Stars" academy in West Africa — already managed to make his debut in the Bayern Munich first team last weekend.
