Abdusattorov leads, Sindarov closes in: intense battle in the rankings...

The recently concluded Candidates Tournament has caused serious changes in the "FIDE Circuit 2026–27" ranking table. According to the new results, the competition among top chess players is becoming even more intense.
Currently, Nodirbek Abdusattorov remains the ranking leader with 48.92 points. Interestingly, despite not playing classical chess since the beginning of March, he has managed to maintain the first position. This once again proves how strong his previous results were.
His closest pursuer is Javohir Sindarov. Following his successful performance in Cyprus, he has accumulated 46.17 points and trails the leader by only 2.75 points. This means there is a very high probability of a change in leadership in upcoming tournaments.
Renowned Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana (25.65) is in third place. Additionally, Anish Giri and Wei Yi, who recorded high results in the Candidates Tournament, also secured spots in the top ten.
The remaining positions are held by experienced chess players such as Jorden van Foreest, Aram Akopyan, Roman Dehtiyarov, Vasil Ivanchuk, and Aydin Sulaymonli.

In short, the situation in the rankings is not calm — every tournament could overturn the positions. For now, Abdusattorov is ahead, but Sindarov is breathing down his neck.
